ABOUT THE BOOK

A Study of Effectiveness of Assertiveness Training Programme on Assertiveness, Self- Acceptance and Academic Achievement Motivation of Female Teacher-Trainees is essentially written for students in Teacher Education and other professional programmes. The book attempts to justify the relevance of assertiveness training as a personality development programme in teacher education curriculum. The book also recognizes organization of activities related to different skills with the help of a well-designed programme during teacher training as the need of the hour. The new teacher education curriculum also laid emphasis on the self-enhancement component in teacher- training programmes at B.Ed. and M.Ed. level. The book emphasizes that the practice of assertiveness training needs to be nurtured through organization of specially designed assertiveness training programmes for benefit of pre-service and in-service teachers as well as students in school settings. It highlights the need to introduce such components in Indian teacher education system. The book implies for the improvement of teacher training programme and evolvement of teacher education policies so that developing assertiveness among prospective teachers becomes an integral part of teacher-training process.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Sangeeta Pawar, presently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Education, Kumaun University, S.S.J. Campus, Almora. She holds B.Ed., M.Ed. & M.A.(Political Science) degrees from C.C.S. University, Meerut, M.Sc.(Botany) from Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani and Ph.D. in Education from Kumaun University, Nainital. Besides this, she has cleared UGC-NET in Education. She has presented more than a dozen papers in National and International Seminar and Conferences. She has published more than 10 research papers and articles in reputed peer reviewed and referred National and International Journals.
She is engaged in teaching to B.Ed. and M.Ed. Classes for last Seven (7) years. She has seven years of experience in guiding research at the P.G. Level and one year at the Ph.D. Level. She has served as NSS programme Officer of Kumaun University and currently hold position of ADSW (Education) at S.S.J. Campus, Almora. She is currently the member of various departmental academic and administrative committees and professional associations such as Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE).
She has coordinated Training Workshops on Personality Development for B.Ed. and M.Ed. Students of Kumaun University, Nainital. Her area of specialization includes Educational Psychology, Educational Measurement & Evaluation, Guidance & Counselling and Educational Technology.
